Childcare/Nannies
A nanny is a trained childcare provider. First and foremost, her responsibility is to keep your children safe, happy and engaged. Diamond nannies are enthusiastic, warm and responsible individuals. Our nannies have experience dealing with the daily routines of children including implementing daily schedules, planning entertaining games, arts and crafts projects and outdoor activities. Nannies focus on the children, their safety, hygiene, stimulation and development. Our applicants are passionate and committed to working with children. Diamond caregivers have several years of experience in care giving, and many have related education. Their role may include meal preparation, laundry and light housekeeping (related to the children). Our Nannies are hired on a full time, live-out basis. Compensation varies according to province and number of hours required and experience.
Elderly and Special Needs Caregivers
A caregiver is trained to provide special care to an elderly individual or someone with special needs. A Diamond caregiver has a combination of education and expertise working with medical conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Parkinson’s, and Paralysis, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and many others. Diamond caregivers provide high quality, personalized care including assistance with activities of daily living, personal hygiene routines, and companionship. A Diamond caregiver’s priority is to keep your loved one safe, feeling secure and dignified in their presence. Diamond caregivers also assist with household duties such as cooking, light housekeeping and laundry, as time permits. Our applicants are professionals who are committed to working as a caregiver. All of our caregivers have several years of experience working with the elderly or special needs individuals. Many have completed specialized geriatric training or are certified personal support workers. Our applicants meet our stringent screening criteria (see Diamond Screening). Our elderly and special needs caregivers are placed in full time, live-out positions across Canada. Compensation varies according to province and number of hours required and experience
HOUSEHOLD STAFF POSITIONS:
Housekeepers
Diamond Housekeepers have experience cleaning homes and have a passion for maintaining and caring for your residence. Duties range from daily household maintenance to general cleaning, caring for household items, laundry and cooking. Diamond Housekeepers have attention to detail and are proactive. Compensation varies according to province and number of hours required and experience.
Executive Housekeepers
An Executive Housekeeper is a seasoned professional with experience in high-end households. Duties range from meticulous day-to-day maintenance of the home, laundry, ironing of clothing and household linens, wardrobe management, menu planning, cooking, assisting with entertaining, polishing silver, and more. Executive Housekeepers have a familiarity with fine furnishings and finishes. They have a high standard for discretion, social etiquette and interpersonal skills. Executive Housekeepers are able to work independently or on a team, and may be expected to report to a Household Manager. Compensation varies according to province and number of hours required and experience.
Nanny/House Managers or Family Assistants
A Family Assistant/House Manager or Nanny/House Manager manages the household affairs of her/his employer’s family. They provide a wider range of support to the family/general household. They may assist with childcare, housekeeping, driving, running errands, taking children to appointments, shopping for household supplies, general household organization, household laundry/ironing, keeping stock of household inventory, meal planning and preparation for the family, coordinating with trades and more. Family Assistants/House Managers are popular among families with school aged children, or stay at home parents who do not require full time, hands-on childcare and desire more multi-faceted support for the family and home. The compensation for a Family Assistant/House Manager is typically $58,000-$100,000 per year.
Executive Household Managers
Executive Household Managers oversee the general operation of the residence. The duties are different in each residence, depending on the size of the house, family composition, and how many staff are employed. Household Managers may manage daily schedules and duties of other household staff such as cleaners, nannies, arrange external services and work with maintenance companies to ensure the proper functioning of the household. They may also be required to provide hands on services. Other duties may include keeping stock of household inventory, budgeting, supervising trades, making appointments or travel arrangements, assist with events, managing household calendars and schedules, and running errands. They may manage the house alone or under the supervision of an Estate Manager. The compensation for an Executive Household Manager is typically $60,000-$100,000 per year.
Estate Managers
An Estate Manager functions as the director of multiple properties. Estate Managers oversee various teams of staff and typically plan and prepare for various events. The Estate Manager is an administrative service professional who possesses a mature and seasoned knowledge of luxury household operations and systems, property management, security, technology and personnel. The Estate Manager works directly with the owners to plan and execute the overall management of property and service. The compensation for an Estate Manager is typically $100,000-$200,000 per year.
House Couples
A House Couple may serve in either a formal or informal setting. Each person will have a separate role which may be a combination of nanny, housekeeper, grounds keeper, household manager, chauffeur, or handyman. Couples may live on the premises or off site. The salary range is dependent upon experience and duties. Salaries for House Couples are generally in the $60-150,000 per year per person.
Private Household Chef
A Private Chef is responsible for the menu planning and preparing of daily meals in a private residence for the principal and the principal’s family. They may also be responsible for
special events and entertaining. Private Chefs are responsible for the service, plate presentation and maintenance of the kitchen area. They are responsible for keeping stock of kitchen inventory and shopping for food and supplies. They may report to a House Manager or directly to the principal. Salaries range from $70-150,000 per year.
Butler
A Butler delivers high-end, personalized service to an individual or a family in a private residence. He maintains high-level household standards and works with the other household staff to establish a consistent standard. The responsibilities are tailored to the lifestyle and personality of the household and can be similar to the responsibilities of a household manager. Butlers are typically responsible for hosting. They answer calls to the household phone, greet guests at the door, assist in the planning of events and dinner parties, oversee table settings, and serve drinks and food. They will also manage the wine cellar. Additionally, a Butler may be responsible for other staff including training new staff members. Salaries typically range from $70-200,000 per year.
Chauffeurs/Private Drivers
Chauffeurs provide transportation for their employer and family. Candidates must have an excellent driving record and experience. Chauffers are professional, discreet, friendly and have excellent social etiquette skills. Chauffeurs are responsible for all aspects of the care and maintenance of the vehicles. Compensation is $50,000 + per year.
Personal Assistants
A Personal Assistant would manage the personal and home affairs of her employer to free up his or her time to focus on other things. Candidates may provide administrative, scheduling, travel, and budgeting support. Personal Assistants generally have excellent oral and written skills and knowledge of social and business protocol. Compensation is $50,000-90,000 + per year.
