Is your Nanny Agency Licensed?
New laws came into effect in Ontario requiring all recruitment agencies in Ontario to obtain a recruiter license from the Ontario Government as of July 1st 2024. This includes nanny, caregiver and household staffing agencies. Employers are prohibited from knowingly engaging or using the services of any recruiter that does not hold a license. Before choosing an agency, make sure to verify that you are working with a licensed agency as stiff penalties can result from working with an unlicensed recruiter.
